With a wealth of history and strong family ties, the opportunity arose to produce this 1:10,000 model of Glastonbury.

The main problem was deciding when to set it. Present, Past or Future?

In the present would require extensive detail to buldings, roads, etc and in many ways would detract from it. In the future maybe, though it was difficult to envisage a situation where the above would improve.

In light of the fact that so much of the area's mythological and legendary status naturally revolves around its past, I decided to set it in the 21st Century BC.

Sea levels are believed to have been somewhat higher than they are now, with the result that it was almost totally surrounded by water.

The area was rich in flora and fauna and the first settlers, our ancestors, had arrived.
